vos on the big game 2
After the inevitable excesses of Christmas, The Big Game 2 is a fantastic way of getting outdoors, having some fun, supporting our team and, at the same time, also supporting some of the world’s most vulnerable young people. Turn off the TV, wrap up warm, and head down to Twickenham to support the Quins boys as they take on Wasps. Keep a look out for staff and volunteers from HOPEHIV, who’ll be offering fans much-needed hand-warmers for a suggested donation of £2. Awesome rugby, a great atmosphere and a worthy cause: it’s a great way to finish off 2009. André Vos

HOPEHIV FOR harlequins
 |
|
In September 2008, an exciting two year partnership was launched between Harlequins and HOPEHIV. Former Harlequins and Springbok captain André Vos (pictured being interviewed at the launch alongside Harlequins CEO Mark Evans, far left, and HOPEHIV founder Phil Wall, right) is heading up the partnership, inspiring players, staff, sponsors and supporters to get involved. |

The day after Boxing Day is usually a bit of an anti-climax. Instead of letting cabin fever set in over stale mince pies, why not get the family along to Twickenham Stadium for The Big Game 2? This exciting London derby between premiership rivals Harlequins and Wasps drew record-breaking crowds last December, and this year promises to be even bigger. With high-energy pre-match entertainment and a ground collection in aid of HOPEHIV, The Big Game 2 is a great day out for all the family. |
Tickets start at just £10 and can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk

Charity tickets in the New South Stand 28/11/09
Harlequins have recently redeveloped the South Stand at the Twickenham Stoop, which increases the Stadium attendance to 14,200 from 12,600. To mark this growth in capacity and a new era for Harlequins, they're giving £5 of every £25 adult ticket in the Touchline section of the New South Stand to HOPEHIV and BBC Children In Need (split 50/50).
Already, over £8,000 has been generated for HOPEHIV in this way, and on Saturday 28th November, the promotion will come to a close with the premiership match against Gloucester, kick off at 3pm. You can buy tickets through the Ticket Office on 020 8410 6000, online at www.quinsru.talent-sport.co.uk, or in person at at the Twickenham Stoop Stadium. Please remember that this promotion relates to tickets purchased in the South Stand and in the Touchline seats (Blocks BB, BC, BD and BE). |

We see hope in André
As a South African, I’ve always known about the AIDS crisis, and I’ve always wondered what I could do to help. Then I met Phil Wall. He challenged me to think in a different way. What if, instead of being a problem, AIDS orphans could be part of the solution? What if we offer business and vocational skills to older orphans and vulnerable youth? What if these new entrepreneurs build up their communities and help younger children in desperate need?
HOPEHIV is teaming up with my old rugby club, Harlequins, to support microfinance and entrepreneurship programmes, changing the future for some of the most impoverished children and young people on the planet. There’ll be loads of ways for everyone to get involved, plus the opportunity to travel to Africa with me and some of the players to report back on progress.
